Who we work with

German rail partners & booking links

The German Rail Pass has exactly one official seller. Everything else on this page — Interrail, ticket search engines, night trains, budget rail — solves a different job, for a different traveller. Read the eligibility note first, then pick the right link.

Which pass is right for you?

You live outside Europe

You are eligible for the German Rail Pass, sold only by Deutsche Bahn at int.bahn.de. No European reseller or agency can legally issue it to you at a different price — the fare is fixed by Deutsche Bahn.

You live in the EU, UK or Switzerland

You cannot buy the German Rail Pass. Your equivalent product is the Interrail Germany Pass, which covers the same network and is sold by Interrail to residents of European countries.

Residence, not nationality, decides eligibility for both products — it is based on where you legally live, as declared when you buy the pass.

Deutsche Bahn — international German Rail Pass shop

Rail pass (official)

The only official seller of the German Rail Pass. Available to residents of countries outside Germany; the pass cannot be bought by German residents.

Interrail (for EU/UK/Swiss residents)

Rail pass (official, EU residents)

Interrail sells the Germany-only pass to residents of European countries, who are not eligible for the German Rail Pass. Same country coverage, sold to a different audience.

Eurail (for non-European residents travelling on a Europe-wide pass)

Rail pass (official, multi-country)

Eurail is the non-European counterpart to Interrail, for residents outside Europe who want a multi-country European pass rather than a Germany-only one.
